JESUS' CLEAR TEACHING ON THE WISE & FOOLISH VIRGINS

'Virgin' is a metaphor for a Christian:

  • All at one point all 10 virgins had oil.

  • There is great sleepiness coming in the end times.

  • There is a great falling away', between the apostate Church and the remnant bride.

  • 5 wise virgins are those who maintained a close relationship with Jesus and have the presence and oil of the Holy Spirit.

  • 5 foolish virgins have neglected a relationship with Jesus and their oil has run dry.

  • The 5 wise virgins will be snatched away when the Lord returns for His church.

  • The 5 foolish virgins will be left behind and will have to go through the Great Tribulation.

Is this a form of salvation by works?

Answer: “As in the days of Noah” (Mt 24.37)

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. 7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. Hebrews 11.6-7

In his generation, Noah would seek after God and His sensitivity to the things of God increased, to the point He was able to receive the revelatory warnings, of what was to come on the Earth. This was Noah moving in true faith in his generation.

In this end-time generation, God is calling a remnant who will diligently seek Him.

God is giving us ample divine warning ahead of time. This is grace! Now is the time to repent and return to Him, to a genuine relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Those in this end time generation who will be of the faith will, in the words of Jesus:

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21.36

We need a restoration of the fear of the Lord, we need to live with an expectation that Jesus is returning very soon!

We are not talking about being 'crazy date setters' as Jesus warns against (Matthew 24.36) BUT WE SHOULD KNOW THE SEASON. In fact, Jesus says we are 'hypocrites' i.e. pretend believers if we can not discern the times! (Luke 12.56).

The gravity and seriousness of this message, can not be overstated. Let everyone reading this be sober minded, watch and pray!

MATTHEW 25:1-13 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. 11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. Matthew 25.1-13
